line up the long grasses
keep still / even
in a thin still line
on a shallow surface
trace a shadow that's bound / to move
of a slender stem
thin wrist / begin together
forget they were in colour
in our muted evening light
let that light move too
still life / i am moved
touched by a scratch
instilled in a trace
